Grand Lake fishing report July 2019

Holy cow! It has been an awesome summer for fishing if you have been able to find them! With all the flooding going on all the crappie crammed to the back of coves in clearer water. Bernice bridge was a popular spot to catch crappie, and white bass for almost 4 months! That’s where they stayed until the water started going down. Once the water level started going down most of the crappie moved out because the water level was lowering and the thermocline was staying relatively high. Now the crappie have moved back into their “normal” summer locations (main lake channel brush piles/docks). It has definitely been a weird summer but everything seems to be heading back to normal. most crappie have been caught in 30 ft of water at 15-20 ft deep just above the thermocline.
