This weekend was amazing for fishing! The crappie were biting very good. I had the privilege of meeting and fishing with a well known Crappie YouTube fisherman this weekend who drove all the way down from Wisconsin. Some of you probably know him as Flopping Crappie. I took Davis around the lake and gave him the general tour of our lake and he was impressed to say the least. Thoughts of owning a lake home on Grand is now a part of his wish list!
We drove around the mid lake area on Saturday scanning “normal” pre-flood summer locations and brush piles and didn’t find much. Only 1 – 5 fish were on each location. So we made a trip to Bernice bridge where I have been catching crappie consistently over the past 2 months. Davis and I put a whoopin on these crappie! probably caught 20 – 30 good size fish in a couple of hours. The next day we went on the Elk River and found a ton of crappie suspended over cover. Minnows were the ticket this weekend as well as Blue and Chart #BoneHeadTackle jigs!
